Southampton will play in the English Premier League next season after the final day of results fell in their favour and they secured their safety from relegation.
Despite losing 1-0 to Manchester City, Mark Hughes has kept Saints up after a dire season at St Mary’s.
At times over the last few months they were a side that looked like a certainty to drop into the English Championship next term.
Fans were of course delighted to avoid relegation and while their team performance against the challenge of the champions was hard working and resolute for the most part, they did have criticism for some players.
One of those was Nathan Redmond, who was largely ineffective before being substituted off in the 64th minute.
He may have been the man who scored a vital goal away to Everton last week, but many supporters have lost patience with the winger and are now looking for him to be moved on this summer.
