Arsenal marched their way into the fifth round of the FA Cup with a stunning 5-0 victory over Southampton at St Mary’s this afternoon, with the Gunners displaying one of their finest performances in the season so far.Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck stole the show, with a hat-trick and brace respectively, but one underrated component of the side that excelled today was Lucas Perez- and it continues a similar trend that we’ve seen from the Spaniard.Dubbed by many as a panic buy when he arrived at the Emirates Stadium from Deportivo La Coruna, Perez has answered his critics and his stats suggest that he should see more football.

In 15 appearances, with only seven starts, Lucas boasts a tremendous tally of six goals and five assists. When he’s not directly contributing to a goal, the forward has more often than not been involved in the build-up play.

Moving forward, Arsenal certainly have another option to consider and it shows the strength in depth that the Gunners boast.
